Description

A delicious and creamy Cajun chicken orzo pasta dish that’s perfect for any weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound Cajun seasoned chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups orzo pasta
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Cook the Cajun seasoned chicken breast until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken and set aside.
  4. Add the orzo pasta to the same pot and stir for about 1 minute to toast.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle boil.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and stir frequently until the orzo is cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.
  7. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Add the chicken to the pot, mix well, and season with salt and pepper.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • This dish can also be made with shrimp or sausage for a different flavor.
  • Feel free to adjust the spice level by using more or less Cajun seasoning.
